Hungarian regulation

The regulatory background of storage activity is provided by the Hungarian Act on Gas Supply (Act No. XL. of 2008) and the relating Governmental and Ministerial Decrees (Gas Act Execution Decree 19/2009), which are based on EU Directive No. 2009/73/EC concerning common rules for the internal market in natural gas and EU Regulation 715/2009/EC on conditions for access to the natural gas transmission networks.

The Storage System Operator (SSO) and the system users are also required to comply with the rules of the Hungarian Grid Code (ÜKSZ) issued by the Hungarian Energy Office, as regulator of the Hungarian Gas Market.

The special rights and obligations of the SSO and its customers are laid down in the Business Code of the company.

The activity of Hungarian Gas Storage Ltd. is in full compliance with the EU Guidelines for Good TPA Practice for Storage System Operator - GGPSSO . GGPSSO is intended to give a minimum set of rules required for the organization of the European market for storage capacity.
